Connecticut Attorney General Seeks Information about Credit Rating Agency Methodologies
January 15, 2008
On January 14, FSA received a subpoena from the Connecticut Attorney General's office primarily seeking information about methodologies used by credit rating agencies for rating municipal debt as compared to corporate debt. FSA intends to comply with this information request, which appears related to an antitrust investigation of possible anticompetitive practices in the debt rating industry announced by the Connecticut Attorney General in October 2007.
