Business Continuity
FSA maintains a business continuity program intended to assure continuous
protection for investors in FSA-insured obligations as well as to minimize
interruption in service to our clients in case of disruptive events.
Our employees are regularly trained for implementation of our business
continuity response plan, which would be activated in an emergency. Under
the plan, the priorities are to make sure that all employees are safe and
that FSA's basic operations - especially our ability to make timely claims
payments - continue without interruption or resume as soon as possible.
The plan is tested yearly.
FSA maintains data backup systems at secure, remote locations, and
personnel have access to secondary business sites at various locations. In
New York, the locations are both inside and outside Manhattan. Key
personnel have standing assignments to assemble at appropriate sites to
maintain operations when an emergency requires it. Our offices around the
world all have access to the same information systems and are prepared to
provide support for business recovery if one office is disrupted.
Additionally, the company provides many employees with laptops configured
for access to our virtual private network and portable telephone and e-mail
devices to facilitate work from homes or other locations.
In the event of an emergency, we will use the best methods available in the
circumstances to keep our employees and the public informed. This website
will be updated as soon as possible, and as frequently as necessary, with
event-related information.
